The principals of Kitchen Pick and its parent company, SKP Plant Factory Inc. have been in the business of growing plants commercially for over 30 years. We are located in beautiful Maple Ridge BC Canada, a town 30 Km east of Vancouver in the picturesque Fraser Valley. Our newly constructed 10,000m² growing facility is purpose built for herb production, making use of the latest technologies for efficient quality production year round. Certified Food Safe by Primus Labs USA, our production is handled throughout the growing cycle by machinery, and touched by human hands only for inspection prior to packaging. To ensure the highest quality and freshness our premium quality herbs are packaged and delivered daily to stores and distribution centers throughout the Pacific Northwest.

While we provide Basil, Parsley, Cilantro and Chives year round, we have a large assortment of seasonal herbs that includes Rosemary, Thyme, Sage, Marjoram, Dill and many others. The Kitchen Pick Story ...as told by our founder

1970s

I grew bedding plants in my parents back yard and sold them at Sunday markets while attending the University of BC for my Genetics degree. I loved growing plants and felt there was a future in the industry.

1980s

Pioneered the first commercial Hydroponic Living Lettuce operation in North America from a zero knowledge base. Developed growing regimes and production techniques still used in the industry today. Rapidly grew the family forestry seedling business by solving reforestation survival issues for forest companies. Explored and developed forest seedling growth manipulation with day length control, which was a major departure from conventional production techniques, and today is the industry standard.

1990s

Further developed forest seedling stock types which overcame physiological and biological constraints to successful reforestation. Created and commercialized a mini plug transplant system specialized for the needs of tree seedling production which addressed root spiraling and out planting timing. The family forest seedling business was now the largest of its type in the world with annual production peaking at 70 million seedlings per year.
